A series of severe thunderstorms made for a noisy start to the holiday weekend across Oklahoma on Saturday morning.

Quarter-sized hail fell across the Oklahoma City area early Saturday morning, with hailstones reaching golf-ball-sized amid wind gusts as high as 77 mph near Ada.

Several other towns across northern and eastern Oklahoma reported gusts of 55-70 mph, leaving over 60,000 without power, according to FindEnergy.com. More than half the outages were in the Tulsa area, where gusts hit 55 mph. Those outage numbers dropped significantly by Sunday morning, with just over 16,000 outages reported.

A video recorded in Skiatook, Oklahoma, showed debris in the roadway after severe weather rolled through the region on Saturday. According to Skiatook Electric, people have been asked to avoid City Hall due to damage to the building’s roof.
